The Pass Line Bet vs. Don’t Pass Bet

The most basic type of bet in craps is called a Pass Line bet. The Pass Line is the curving part of the betting area, which is near where players stand. When you make a Pass Line bet, you are betting with the dice, while a Don’t Pass bet means you are betting against the dice. Here’s how it works.

Making a Pass Line bet

When a person starts shooting, their first roll is called a come-out roll. If you make a Pass Line bet, you are betting that their first roll will be 7 or 11. If that is the roll, then you double your money. If they shoot Craps (meaning they throw a 2, 3 or 12), then you lose. If they roll any other number, then that sets the Point. Now you need them to roll that same number again before they roll a seven. If they do, then you double your money. If they roll a 7 before the point, then you lose.

Making a Don’t Pass bet

This is just the opposite of a Pass Line bet. With one exception, whenever a Pass Line bet wins, a Don’t Pass bet loses, and vice versa. For the come out roll, if they throw a 7 or 11 you lose. If they throw a 2 or a 3, then you double your money. When the shooter throws a 12 on the come out roll, this is the exception. Even though Pass Line bets lose, Don’t Pass bets get a push instead of a win. On subsequent rolls, if they roll the point number before a 7, you lose, but if they roll a 7 first, you win.

Now the question is: which of the two craps bets is the best? The answer – both. You just have to know the game and really understand the rules. As a player, you are at liberty to choose. Do you feel lucky right now?

Be The Best Craps Player

Posted by admin | Posted in Craps Online | Posted on 01-03-2014

Just like any other online casino game, to be successful in Craps you need to fully understand the rules of the game. Of course, there are players who may be successful after taking a short glimpse at the table and try to win by imitating several players on the table. While this may work, it’s important to note that you will only be in it for the money. You will never enjoy a game of Craps until you know exactly what’s going on and why you are making the specific bet that you choose to make. With that in mind, let’s go straight to some of the important things that you should know when playing Craps.

First, it’s important to know how to do the math when it comes to the possible outcomes when dice are rolled. What most people fail to realize is that each of the dice is treated as an individual entity. This is to mean that there are two possible ways of getting a total of 3. You can either have a 1 and a 2, or a 2 and a 1. With this in mind, you’ll realize that there are 3 ways you can get a total of 4, 4 ways of getting a total of 5, 5 ways of getting a total of 6 and 6ways of getting a total 7. From 7, the trend starts going down. There are 5 ways of getting an 8, 4 ways of getting a 9 and so on. With this in mind, 7 is the total that is most likely to appear on any dice roll.

There are lots of bets you can make on the craps table. Once you know how to evaluate the odds of a certain outcome, you can be sure that you will not make any crappy bets on the Craps table. Once you know what your desired outcome is, and you verify that indeed there is a big chance of winning, then go ahead and bet. The other thing that you should look at is the house edge. Some bets have a higher house edge than others. A good example is the place bet that has an edge of 2.8% when compared to the come, pass and don’t pass that have only 1.4% house edge.

The Buy Bet – How does it work

Posted by admin | Posted in Craps Online | Posted on 01-02-2014

A buy bet is like a place bet, except the buy bet pays off on true oddds. True odds is the percentage that a certain number will come up vs. times it won’t. 1 to 2 for the numbers 4 or 10, 2 to 3 for the numbers 5 or 9, and 5 to 6 for the numbers 6 or 8. The payoff for casinos is usually less than true odds, since they have to make money to stay in business. Imagine the house edge like a fee or tax for letting you gamble. But at a small commission of 5% of all winnings, which is required if you want to buy bet, then the casino’s payoff is going to be true odds. When you are in a casino, you pay this commission, or vigorish (vig), when you make a wager. Now, let’s say you make a buy bet of $40 on a number, so you put $42 in the designated box. The buy bet is $40 and the house takes $2.

The best numbers to buy are 4 and 10, since they have the lowest casino edge. You can buy any of the other numbers, but because of the 5% commission and since the others are usually done as place bets, which give a lower casino edge, you don’t need to buy 5, 6, 8, or 9. It is a good idea to buy bet 4 and 10 and place bet 5, 6, 8, and 9. You will have the lowest casino edge and hopefully profit from a good amount of runs. Buy bets are off on a come-out roll, unless you instruct the casino worker to have them on or keep working. And the buy bet can be increased, lowered, or taken down any time before a next roll of the dice.
